How we handle your information
When you give, put a woman forward, or send us a message, you trust us with some of your details. Here is what we hold, why we hold it, and how we keep it safe. In plain words.

The details you give us
We only collect what we need to do the work and to reach you. That is:
- A nomination's details, when you put a woman forward.
- A giver's details, when you give, so we can receipt the gift and thank you.
- A message you send us, and the email or phone number you gave with it.
- A question you ask in the chat, and the email or phone number you left, if you left one.
- The phone number or email you confirm with a code, so we know it is really you.
What we use it for
We use your details for the reason you gave them to us, and no other:
- To reach you and reply.
- To verify a nomination, with the woman's own consent.
- To record a gift and thank you for it.
- To answer the message you sent.
Kept to the few who need it
A nomination, and a giver's details, are seen by the founder and the trustees only. Messages sent through the forms and the chat are seen by the founder, the trustees and the editors who help answer them. Nothing is shared with anyone outside the foundation, and nothing is ever sold.
A woman's name and photograph appear on this site only when she has agreed to it herself. If she would rather stay private, she stays private.
We keep your details only as long as we need them for the reason you gave them, and for what the law asks of a foundation. The one-time codes we send you are deleted after 30 days. When we no longer need your details, the founder removes them.
You can ask us to correct your information if it is wrong, and you can ask us to remove it. Write to the trustees. The founder then removes your name, your contact details and what you wrote. We keep only a note that it was done, and when.
Held with care
- Your details are kept private, away from public view.
- What you send us travels over a secure connection.
- Only the founder and the trustees can see a nominated woman's details or a giver's.
The trustees answer for your details
The Yeye Alogba Foundation looks after your details under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. If you think we have got something wrong, write to the trustees. They answer every request themselves.
You can also take a complaint to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
